Mogbajar Mouchak Flyover

Übersicht

Project description

The Mogbajar Mouchak Flyover Project started with the aim to facilitate the north- and southbound transport by increasing the traffic carrying capacity of six different congested roads and junctions, along with two railway intersections in the heart of Dhaka.

The project started in 2011 and was completed in three phases. The first section runs from Satrasta-Moghbazar-Holy Family Hospital, the second through Shantinagar- Malibagh-Rajarbagh and the final section from Bangla Motor-Moghbazar-Mouchak.

The structure itself is a four lane single / double tier flyover with a length of 8,500 m.

mageba scope

mageba supplied the following products:

• 300 units of LASTO-BLOCK bearings,
• 146 units of RESTON-POT bearings,
• 114 units of RESTON-STU shock transmission units

The project required a series of STU units with different capacities of axial forces; 300 KN, 350 KN, 600 KN, 700 KN and a stroke of +/-50 mm.

Since the available space was not adequate to properly anchorage the components, and the reinforcement in the structure itself was also inadequate at the location of the anchor points, mageba proposed a special solution which was accepted and well appreciated by both, the consultant and the project proponent (Local Government Engineering Division) parties.
